Gyproc Shaftwall system uses certain specialised components with Gyproc Studs & Channels tp provide a lightweight, fire resistant structure to protect building elements in confined spaces wherever access is limited to one side only. The system provides a protective structure which can be incorporated at an early stage of the construction without the need for scaffolding. The system can also be built horizontally to provide a fire rated membrane. These membranes can be built entirely from below. Shaftwall components can be combined with Glasroc F Firecase non-combustible boards as an alternative to plasterboard. There is a high level of commonality with Gypwall Partitioning Components, particularly 70mm stud solutions. Shaftwall can be used where access is limited to one side at the head e.g. where mechanical and electrical cages are already installed in corridors.
