Essential Deck Cleaner is a strong performance cleaner designed specifically for cleansing wooden decks. It can also be used to cleanse other outdoor hard surfaces such as artificial decking and garden furniture. In contrast to acid-based treatments, an alkaline-based solvent will not damage wooden decking. Apply directly to areas with severe surface contamination, or dilute 1:1 for less contaminated areas. Simply apply, wait 2 hours, and then wash off. Even if the decking has been neglected for a long time, it will effectively remove layers of filth and grime, as well as slimy green algae, lichen, and black spot. Coverage varies depending on surface contamination, but should cover up to 50m2 per 5L container on average. Available in 5L and 25L. HOW TO APPLY: 1. Remove any dust and debris from the work surface before beginning, and make sure you have adequate personal protection, such as gloves , appropriate protective eyewear , a face mask , and clothing. 2. Essential Deck Cleaner should be used neat or diluted 1:1 with fresh water - do a brief area test to determine the most appropriate dilution rate and dwell time. Transfer the cleaning solution from the bottle to a pump sprayer or watering can with caution. An alternative, if these containers are not accessible, the cleaning fluid can be utilised directly from the bucket. Use generously. 3. The cleaning fluid should be left on the distributed surface for at least an hour, during which time the surface area must not be allowed to dry. If required, spray the decking with more Essential Deck Cleaner or clean water to keep it from drying out. Scrub the staining area(s) with a brush if required, but keep the surface wet at all times. 4. Leave to dwell for at least 2 hours. 5. After at least two hours of residence time, the treated surface area should be rinsed down with fresh water to first neutralise the cleaner before power washing off for best results. Keep in mind that cleaning fluid can damage or even kill vegetation, so avoid splattering it on your garden or lawn grass. If this is inevitable, then rinse with plenty of clean water to dilute the Essential Deck Cleaner. 6. In places with significant soiling and ingrained filth, the dwell period of Essential Deck Cleaner may need to be extended to up to 4 hours, or overnight if required, before power washing off. To get ideal results on old, tough black/white lichen spots, test a small region to determine the dwell time needed to remove the stains, then follow the steps above. It is possible that two or three applications will be required. PLEASE NOTE: The primary element in Essential Deck Cleaner is a chlorine-type compound, which will discolour textiles and sensitive materials. During application, take great care to avoid contact with fabrics and tarmac. The fluid may create minor whitening of some surfaces; always test the product on-site in an unnoticeable area before using it.
