The system is used to improve an existing timber joist floor in residential conversion or expansion projects. It can also be used to meet acoustic requirements and reduce sound propagation between floors in new construction. With a modest increase in floor width, the floor channels come with a neoprene acoustic isolation strip that greatly increases airborne and impact sound insulation of existing timber joist floors, and should be used in combination with an adequate ceiling covering.
