For cavity widths 150-165mm, standard load L1/S Lintel has a manufactured length in 150mm increments. Blockwork is built tight against the inner face of the lintel, you can then place the mortar bed on top of the blockwork before floor units are laid to crate even distribution of load. Lintels can be propped to facilitate speed of construction.
