Shire's Kensington Summerhouse is a classic example of a classical summerhouse, measuring 7' x 7'. It works well in a variety of garden settings, but it looks best in a traditional garden. The nearly totally glass façade, which includes 34-foot-long sliding double doors and a giant opening side window, allows plenty of natural light to into the Kensington's interior. This adds to the joy of spending time inside and produces a sensation of light, airy, and space. Furthermore, if it's a particularly sunny day, you may throw open the windows and doors to let the light in or a cool breeze in. Customers who buy the Kensington are typically traditionalists. The Kensington's classic charm stems from its exquisite Georgian-style windows, real joinery doors, traditional apex roof, and appealing, scalloped facia. The Kensington is constructed to the same high standards as any Shire Summerhouse. Shire summerhouses also offer a variety of high-quality features that, considering their low price, you may not expect. Instead of the glued-on glazing bars that are common on lesser summerhouses, the windows and doors have proper, handcrafted construction. They are carefully morticed and tenoned, and the window has a unique contoured "lip" that covers the aperture of the panel opening, making it exceptionally weather resistant. The glazing is 3mm horticultural glass that can be counted on to maintain its clarity. This is frequently favoured over plastic glazing materials such as polycarbonate or styrene, which tend to dull over time. The Kensington has a tongue and groove roof and floor, which is a luxury option when compared to alternatives that can be an eyesore. The use of tongue and groove results in a more durable and weather resistant floor. The Kensington features shiplap tongue and groove cladding. This means that the individual boards are firmly packed together to produce a sturdy barrier against the elements. The shiplap design generates a thin, overlapping "lip" that aids in water run-off and increases the summerhouse's weather protection. The Kensington's structure is a strong 34mm x 34mm, which is up to 20% thicker than the framing found on many other garden buildings in this price range. The wood used is a slow-growing continental wood. Slower-growing wood has a tighter grain, better strength, and a longer life span. This Kensington Summerhouse has been dip treated. This indicates that it has been pre-treated with a base coat to protect the wood during manufacturing and transportation (colour can vary from the picture shown). The Kensington comes with complete assembly instructions as well as all necessary parts, including roofing felt.
