Constructed from high grade 12mm thick shiplap tongue and groove boarding, your Bike Store will be sturdy and resilient, and everything housed inside will be nicely protected away from the weather. A 34mm x 34mm framework adds strength to the bike store. With a roof made of durable, 8mm Oriented Strand Board (OSB) and roofing felt to help maintain the Bike Store's weatherproof structure, you can be confident that your belongings will remain safe. Taking items into and out of storage is made simple by the wide opening double doors on the front. The doors also come with reinforced ledged and braced doors, as well as a hasp and staple. This means you may secure all goods inside (padlock not included), giving you added piece of mind about the security of your belongings. Our clients frequently prefer to add their own personal touch by painting their bike stores, and they look great in any colour. The most generally used timber for garden buildings is pine (pinus), which is widely available at a low cost; however, all of Shire's garden buildings are made from high grade spruce (picea). Spruce is more resilient than pine and has a higher quality finish. This lumber is slow grown, as opposed to rapid grown timber from the United Kingdom and Eastern Europe. Slow grown timber has a tighter grain, less sap, and fewer knots. As a result, the lumber used on Shire's line is a more durable timber that will last far longer than other timbers. Shire garden buildings are pre-treated on both sides with a golden brown water-based industrial solution (colour can vary from the picture shown). You must apply a top coat wood treatment to the exterior. This will prevent the wood from weathering, allowing it to endure longer. The timber treatment will need to be done on a regular basis according to the manufacturer's instructions.
