The Shire garden buildings, like this 4' x 6' pent hut, are built to the same high standards. This useful garden shed provides surprising amounts of storage space without taking up too much of your outside space, whether you need extra storage space or a place to put gardening tools. The Shire Shiplap Pent Garden Shed 4' x 6' is tiny enough to fit into almost any corner while providing enough of convenient and easy-access storage. This timber shed, built to Shire's usual excellent standards, provides a fantastic value storage room that is exceptionally long lasting. You may be confident that it is made of high-quality wood because it is a Shire shed. If you want a long-lasting and sturdy garden shed, the tongue and groove method of construction should be on your radar. Many people point out that a tongue and groove garden building looks neater and more natural in a garden environment. If you buy a tongue and groove garden shed instead of an overlap one, you will save money in the long run, and basic maintenance will probably be easier over time. The panelled walls are made of shiplap tongue and groove boards, which outperform sheds that are only tongue and groove. Shiplap tongue and groove sheds are finished with a contoured finish. There is a reason why shiplap has a profiled finish; it allows for improved water runoff, ensuring the timber dries faster and your wooden shed will survive considerably longer than the identical tongue and groove or overlap structure. The timber utilised is a slow-growing continental timber. Slower growth produces tighter grain, more strength, and a longer life. Shire's utilisation of natural products and environmental credentials. A good quality timber garden structure begins with high quality timber, so it is critical to understand exactly what timber is being used for your garden shed. The most usually used timber for garden buildings is pine since it is widely available at a low cost; however, all of Shire's garden structures are created using high grade spruce. Spruce is more durable than pine and has a greater finish quality. This lumber is slow grown, as opposed to quick growing British timber. Slow grown timber has a tighter grain, less sap, and considerably fewer knots and warping. As a result, the lumber used on Shire's garden structures is more resilient and will last considerably longer than other timbers used on garden sheds. Spruce is thus the wood of choice for companies such as Shire, which strives to manufacture the greatest garden shelters. The walls are built with 12mm thick softwood planed tongue and groove shiplap pattern boarding. All of the wood used in Shire sheds is from sustainable sources, so you can feel good about purchasing one. The actual frame is a sturdy planed 34 x 34mm (1 1/3' x 1 1/3') framework (walls and floor) that provides the building with strength. The flooring is made of high-quality 12mm planed tongue-and-groove matching pattern boarding and 9mm Oriented Strand Board (OSB) with included roofing felt. One opening window is given as standard, and it is correctly morticed and tenoned, making it one of the strongest joints in woodworking. It has an opening, a profile, and is resistant to the elements. The window features a distinctive contoured 'lip' that covers the aperture of the opening in the panel and makes it weather resistant. There are two levels of opening in casement stays. 3mm horticultural glass was used for the glazing. All glazing is held in place with pre-mitered contoured beading (no awkward cutting required). Because this is a modular structure, the window panel can be installed on either the left or right side front panel. This wide window lets in a lot of light. This garden shed's door is reinforced ledged and comes with a padbolt. All Shire garden buildings come pre-treated with a base coat of a golden brown water-based industrial substance on both sides (colour can vary from the picture shown). Shire recommended that you apply your preferred water-based top coat. This will protect the timber on your shed from weathering, extending its life, and must be repeated in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions. For convenience of handling and assembly, the product is supplied flat packed. All fittings and felt are included in the pricing, as are clear and simple installation instructions.
