Wrekin’s double sealed pressed steel access cover is manufactured with no sharp edges and sits inside a steel frame. Compatible for applications where gross laden vehicle weight will not exceed 10 tonnes, this steel access manhole cover is for light industrial areas such as shopping malls and for service areas too. Described as light to medium duty, this steel access cover can withstand slow moving pneumatic tyres up to 2.5 tonnes in vehicle weight and slow moving solid tyres up to 0.5 tonnes in vehicle weight. A reliable surface seal will minimise water ingress and reduce any odours escaping from the steel manhole cover. A specially designed labyrinth surface pattern will reduce water pooling too, increasing safety and reducing the risk of slipping. The double seal is achieved by a unique captive ‘O’ ring gasket under lateral compression in a specially designed lipped channel enhanced by the continuous surface of the cover at the corners. A second seal is achieved with an additional neoprene gasket vertically compressed in a channel. This double seal provides an enhanced level of resistance to gaseous and/or liquid ingress and /or egress under normal atmospheric pressure.
